Positions will be listed in the Workday Student Jobs Hub by mid-March. The deadline for all positions is Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 11:59 pm.
INTERNSHIPS
We offer paid student internships with the Museum’s engagement, curatorial, and collections management departments during the academic year. Available positions are posted in the fall and spring on the Workday Student Jobs portal.
Visitor Experience Assistant positions
Visitor Experience Assistants greet and assist Museum visitors, as well as help monitor the gallery spaces. When these positions are available, they will be posted on Workday in the late fall and the late spring for the following semester.
STUDENT GUIDE PROGRAM
Another great way to be involved with the Museum is the Student Guide Program, which offers students an opportunity to learn about the Museum's collection and give tours to campus, community, and K-12 audiences. These positions either receive student employment compensation or academic credit for their participation in the year-long program. Applications will be posted on Workday and are due in the late spring for the following academic year.
CRAFTING A LIFE IN THE ARTS
For those interested in pursuing museum careers, Mount Holyoke’s network of alums can be an invaluable resource. Every two years, the Museum collaborates with other arts departments on campus and the Career Development Center to organize Crafting a Life in the Arts, a career event featuring alum panelists working in a variety of arts-related professions.

MHCAM Interns - Summer 2019
During the summer of 2019, the Museum was a hub of activity thanks to four Mount Holyoke undergraduate interns whose many contributions ranged from object research to exhibition preparation and installation. Stories Behind the Stones
During her LYNK internship at MHCAM this summer, Architectural Studies major and Religion minor Priscilla (Qizhen) Zhang '19 studied a group of Tibetan Mani stones in the Museum's collection. Zhang was especially intrigued by the religious stories present in the carved images and inscriptions on these stones, which she describes in this enlightening blog post. The Museum is grateful for her terrific work, and the important contributions of all of our brilliant interns--contributions that have inspired this new blog series, Intern Insights.

Constructing Narratives from Vernacular Photographs
Recent Mount Holyoke graduate Emma Kennedy '16 reflects on her work with a collection of photographs gifted to MHCAM by Ann Zelle '65. During her curatorial internship at the Museum, and in her research for a final paper, Kennedy contemplated the mysteries of these compelling vernacular images.
