Student Guide Program at the Mount Holyoke College Art Museum

The Student Guide Program is a full-year paid training program that prepares students to become Student Museum Educators (SMEs) by facilitating tours and group activities in the galleries. Student Guides work closely with Museum Engagement staff and get to know the art on view–learning how to ask good questions and foster conversations. Student Guides represent a wide variety of backgrounds and diverse academic interests–you need not be an art history major to apply! Ideal candidates are intellectually curious, enjoy connecting people with art, and are enthusiastic about making the Art Museum a welcoming place for all visitors.

The Student Guide Program meets weekly on Friday afternoons (1:30-4:20pm) for the full academic year. Student Guides must be able to meet on Fridays in both the fall and spring semesters and plan their schedules accordingly. Students who will be studying abroad within a given year are not able to participate due to this requirement.

All Student Guides receive student employment compensation for participating in the program.

Student Museum Guide applications will be due Monday, April 6 at 11:59 pm. Applications are posted on the Workday Student Jobs portal.
