The Art Museum is located on the Mount Holyoke College campus in South Hadley, Massachusetts, 12 miles north of Springfield and 10 miles south of Amherst, Massachusetts.

Please note that starting May 27 and anticipated through July 2025, construction related to the College’s geothermal project will impact roads and parking around the Art Museum. During this time, parking along Lower Lake Road will be limited. Please note: the Museum will be closed during the summer starting June 2, 2025.

By car
From the North
Take Interstate 91 South to exit 26 (Northampton/Hadley). Turn left at the first stoplight (onto Damon Road) and go one mile to Route 9. Turn left onto Route 9 and cross the Coolidge Bridge over the Connecticut River. Turn right at first stop light onto Route 47 and travel approximately eight miles to South Hadley center. In South Hadley center, continue straight through the intersection with Route 116 onto Park Street. Take the second right onto Lower Lake Road. The Museum is on the right, adjacent to the greenhouse.
From the South
Take Interstate 91 North to exit 14 (Route 202 Holyoke/South Hadley). Turn right and proceed on Route 202 North through Holyoke and across the Connecticut River. Continue on Route 202 and take the second exit marked "South Hadley Center / Amherst" to Route 116 North. Travel approximately two miles on Route 116 to Mount Holyoke College. At the traffic light at the north end of the campus, turn right onto Park Street. Take the second right onto Lower Lake Road. The Museum is on the right, adjacent to the greenhouse.
From the West
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90 East ) to exit 45 (West Springfield). Turn onto Interstate 91 North and follow directions from the south.
From the East
Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90 West) to exit 49 (Holyoke/Chicopee). Bear right toward South Hadley. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Route 33 and travel approximately five miles until you reach Route 116. Turn right onto Route 116 North and drive two miles to Mount Holyoke College. At the traffic light at the north end of the campus, turn right onto Park Street. Take the second right onto Lower Lake Road. The Museum is on the right, adjacent to the greenhouse.
Parking
Free campus parking is available, but due to the College’s ongoing geothermal project, it may be limited. Parking spaces for visitors with physical disabilities are available on the semi-circular driveway directly in front of the Museum’s main entrance (during construction only ½ the driveway will be open, but there still will be handicapped spots available). When traveling on Lower Lake Road from Park Street, take your first left onto Prospect Hall Road. Cross the bridge and turn left into the lot. Park in the rows marked for visitors. After parking, look for the foot bridge for the shortest walk to the Museum. To locate other parking areas, please visit our campus map.

By Bus
There is no bus service to Mount Holyoke College via the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) during summer break: May 17, 2025 – Sep. 1, 2025.
