What are your hours?
The Museum is open Tuesday-Friday, 11:00 am-5:00 pm and Saturday-Sunday, 1:00-5:00 pm during the academic year. Closed Mondays, select College breaks and most major holidays. See our Visit page for the most up-to-date information.
Is there an admission fee?
The Museum is free and open to all.
Where can I park?

Where can I store coats and large items not allowed in the Museum?
Please place backpacks, bags larger than 11×15″, and umbrellas in the lockers adjacent to the museum lobby. Coats may be worn, not carried, into the galleries or can be hung near the lockers.
Can I bring refreshments into the galleries?
Food and drinks (including water bottles) are not allowed inside the museum.

Are animals permitted in the galleries?
Service animals, as identified by the Americans with Disabilities Act, are the only animals allowed in the museum.
Is photography allowed?
Unless otherwise indicated, still photography without flash is permitted only for private, non-commercial use. The Museum does not hold copyright for many of the objects on view. Visitors are responsible for determining if the use of the image(s) they take at the Museum may be subject to copyright infringement.
Is filming permitted in the Museum?
Special authorization by Museum staff is required for the use of a tripod, video, or movie equipment. Please contact Maura Brennan or call 413.538.2245 in advance of your visit.
Is sketching allowed in the galleries?
Pencils may be used for note-taking or sketching. The use of ballpoint pens, ink, markers, fountain pens, pastels, charcoal, or watercolors is not permitted in the galleries. Sketchpads must not be larger than 18 x 24 inches.
Are there restaurants and cafes nearby?
The Village Commons, in walking distance of the Museum, maintains a list of food and entertainment options.
