In this tour, we will engage with works of art, ranging from prints to pottery, ancient Rome to modern day. We will dive into their subjects, methods of creation, and artists’ experiences to explore the theme of tradition. How and why do artists reinterpret and transform tradition? How do we experience and communicate generational continuities and chasms? How do we pay homage to our histories while reinventing ourselves and our own legacies?
