Nutmegs
Grindal Rawson Museum SKINNER CATALOGUE: Five nutmegs brought from India by Sophia Eastman in the 1890's. The group includes a leaf from the tree, something like an elm leaf, the thick outer shell which contains the nut, and five kernels, or nutmegs proper, three with the twisted stringy lining which surrounds them, and all with the dark brown skin in which the nutmeg as known to commerce is encased.
