This page comes from Dorothy Blair’s diary during her year-long study in Japan. On the previous page, Blair describes her first day in Tokyo after her long sea journey, and her meeting with Mrs. Yoshida (Fujio), who led her through some “narrow muddy streets” to the Yoshida home. Blair goes on to describe her first impression of their house, including detailed observations of the print studio and the printing taking place.
