Sight Unseen: The Gaze in Art

Saturday
Saturday, April 22, 2023 - 1:30pm

Art Museum Galleries

Lily Alexander ’25, Student Guide

We go to the museum to see art, but how does art see you? This tour examines the way artists use lines of sight in their work to make the audience feel included or implicated. Artists often include specific elements in their pieces to invite us in or manipulate lines of sight. Through an exploration of some of these elements we will discover how art is made to look back at us.

Sightlines Tours last about 45 minutes and are designed for adult learners, though we welcome visitors of all ages! Free and open to the public.
